Inspired by the craniofacial and microsurgical effort there, he decided to pursue craniofacial surgery.Īfter finishing his training at LSU, he was accepted as a craniofacial and microsurgical fellow at Hopkins. He was here when Katrina struck New Orleans and was sent to John’s Hopkins plastic surgery in Baltimore, where he encountered Ed Rodriguez, MD, DDS. He felt, however, that Oral and Maxillofacial surgery would not be expansive enough and decided to pursue Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He then undertook training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Sinai, completing his training in 2005. He remained in Canada for dental training and received an MD at Mount Sinai in New York. St.Hilaire was born in Canada and attended the University of Quebec for his undergraduate studies. Hilaire, MD, DDS, FACS is an associate professor of clinical surgery at LSU.ĭr.
